For owners, medical directors and providers at wellness clinics, med spas and functional medicine practices. Updated October 22, 2026 · Prepared by Prospyr. A supplement dispensary lets a practice recommend professional supplements and have patients order them online, so the practice does not have to stock, ship or sell every bottle itself. This list compares 6 options, from Fullscript, the largest multi-brand platform, to dispensaries run by individual supplement brands. Prospyr makes practice software, not supplements, and none of the companies below is a Prospyr product or partner. Each summary reflects what the company publishes on its own website, checked October 2026. Margins, fees, catalogs and shipping terms change, so confirm them in writing before you sign up. This article is not medical advice and makes no claim about what any supplement does.

What is a supplement dispensary?

A supplement dispensary is an online store tied to a practitioner's account, where patients buy the supplements their provider recommended and the company ships them directly to the patient's door. The practice usually pays nothing to open the account, holds no inventory and, depending on the platform and its settings, either passes a discount to patients or earns a margin or rebate on each order. There are two kinds: multi-brand platforms such as Fullscript and WholeScripts, which carry many manufacturers in one catalog, and single-brand dispensaries run by a supplement company for its own products. Many practices also use a wholesale account to keep a few products on the shelf.

How we chose this list

We loaded each company's own website and kept options that (1) are operating and accepting new practitioner accounts as of October 2026, (2) let a licensed practice recommend products that patients order online or let the practice order at wholesale, and (3) publish something checkable about how the account works, such as fees, margins, shipping or catalog size. We put multi-brand platforms first because they let a practice recommend from many brands in one place, then single-brand dispensaries in the order we reviewed them. The order is our editorial view, not a measure of product quality. We did not evaluate any supplement, and we left out consumer retailers and brands without a practitioner dispensing program.

1Fullscript#

Fullscript is the platform most practices mean when they say "supplement dispensary." It lets providers recommend supplements that patients order for home delivery, order wholesale stock for the office, and order labs and review results in the same account. Its home page cites more than 125,000 licensed clinicians and fifteen years in operation. Fullscript has absorbed several earlier dispensaries: Emerson Ecologics is now "a Fullscript company," and Wellevate's site states it "has moved to Fullscript and is no longer available for practitioners and patients."

What stands out:

  • Free to start. The pricing page lists $0 a month for individual providers and practices, including the full catalog, supplement dispensing, lab ordering and standard EHR integrations. Health system and enterprise pricing is custom.
  • No-profit or margin. Fullscript's help center states new accounts are "no-profit" by default, with Fullscript as seller of record and a fixed 10% patient discount off MSRP. Practices that provide more information and accept the terms can earn a margin instead.
  • Wholesale. Its wholesale page cites 350+ brand partners, direct-from-manufacturer prices, free shipping on orders over $250 and volume discounts where applicable.
  • Storefront. Each provider gets a branded storefront to share on a website or social channels, with Fullscript handling fulfillment and customer support.

Right for: practices that want one account for many brands, plus wholesale and labs. Ask: whether a margin account changes your sales tax responsibilities, and which brands in your current protocols are in the catalog.

Visit Fullscript

2Emerson Ecologics#

Emerson Ecologics is a long-running wholesale supplier to practitioners and now describes itself as "a Fullscript company." Its site lists featured brands, monthly specials, protocols, patient resources and a monthly newsletter for practitioners, The Script, with a practitioner sign-up for accounts.

What stands out:

  • Wholesale focus. Emerson's home page is built around ordering stock for the practice. For patient-direct ordering, it points practitioners to Fullscript.
  • Shipping. It lists free standard shipping on orders over $250 (as of October 2026).
  • Education. Protocols, patient handouts and The Script newsletter are published for practitioners.

Right for: practices that keep a retail shelf or dispense in the office and want one wholesale supplier. Ask: account requirements for your license type, and how an Emerson account relates to a Fullscript dispensary if you use both.

3WholeScripts (XYMOGEN)#

WholeScripts is the practitioner platform run by XYMOGEN, a family-owned supplement company operating since 2003. XYMOGEN's Clinician's Corner states that a WholeScripts partnership gives practitioners access to XYMOGEN formulas "plus more than 100 top-tier supplement brands," with protocol and recommendation tools and EHR integration.

What stands out:

  • Supplements and prescriptions together. XYMOGEN says patients can shop prescriptions and supplements together through WholeScripts Pharmacy.
  • MedPax. WholeScripts offers MedPax, single daily dose packs that combine a patient's recommended supplements.
  • Education. XYMOGEN lists free webinars, networking events and access to its medical team for WholeScripts partners.

Right for: practices that already use XYMOGEN or want daily dose packs for patients on several products. Ask: practitioner margin terms, patient discounts and shipping, none of which we found published.

4Designs for Health#

Designs for Health offers a free Virtual Dispensary for its own product line, with "no inventory" and "no overhead," where patients order online directly from the practice's storefront. The company states every ingredient is tested for purity, potency and identity at external ISO-certified labs.

What stands out:

  • Published commission. Its dispensary page advertises "up to 50% commission on patient orders."
  • Your branding. Practices can add their logo, bio, featured products and promotional messages to the storefront, and send personalized eScripts.
  • A named contact. Each practice gets a Functional Medicine Consultant for setup and ongoing support.
  • Testing add-on. DFH also sells Spotlight functional wellness tests, which it states are not diagnostic and must be ordered or authorized by a registered provider.

Right for: practices that recommend mostly Designs for Health products. Ask: what determines your commission level, and how patient discounts affect it.

5Thorne#

Thorne offers a free professional account with two parts: direct wholesale ordering with no order minimums, and an online dispensary where patients buy directly from Thorne. Its FAQ states new professional accounts are automatically enrolled in the online dispensary program. Thorne says it runs at least four rounds of testing on every product it makes.

What stands out:

  • Published fee. Thorne's FAQ states the practitioner earns a rebate on each patient sale, minus a platform fee of 15% of the wholesale price per transaction.
  • Patient perks. Practices can set individual or automated patient discounts, and Thorne drop ships recommended products to U.S. patients for free.
  • Simple sign-up. Applicants upload a PDF of their professional credentials (under 1 MB) and provide an SSN or EIN.

Right for: practices that want both wholesale and online dispensing from a single brand. Ask: the rebate amount before the platform fee, and how often rebates are paid.

6Metagenics#

Metagenics runs a Metagenics Online Dispensary for practitioners. It states its products are "intended for use under the direction and supervision of a healthcare practitioner," and it lists a public practitioner finder by ZIP code and specialty.

What stands out:

  • Protocols and recommendations. Practices can group products into protocols and send recommendations that land in the patient's shopping cart.
  • Subscriptions. Patients can set up recurring orders they manage themselves.
  • Shipping. Metagenics states it handles fulfillment, with direct-to-patient shipping at no additional cost.
  • Education. It lists webinars, group meetings and seminars for practitioners.

Right for: practices that build programs around Metagenics products. Ask: practitioner pricing, any margin on patient orders, and how long account approval takes.

Not on this list

Wellevate's site states it has moved to Fullscript and is no longer available. Natural Partners also moved to Fullscript, according to Fullscript's company news. Pure Encapsulations' Patient Direct page is titled "Pure Patient Direct Is Transitioning to Fullscript," and we could not load its current terms, so we left it out until the change is complete.

Questions to ask any supplement dispensary

  1. How do margins and discounts work? Ask whether the account is no-profit, margin-based or rebate-based, and what each patient discount costs you.
  2. Who is the seller of record? If you earn a margin, ask whether your practice becomes responsible for sales tax. See our list of sales tax advisors for retail.
  3. What does your state and license allow? Rules on selling products to your own patients vary by state and profession. Check with your board and counsel, and disclose any financial interest to patients.
  4. Which brands are in the catalog? Confirm every product in your current protocols is available before you move patients.
  5. How does shipping work? Ask about free shipping thresholds, shipping to patients and returns.
  6. What can I say about a product? Supplements are not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. Keep your recommendations and marketing within what the label allows.
  7. Can I export my data if I leave? Ask how patient recommendations and order history move if you switch platforms.

Where Prospyr fits
