Designed to integrate practice management, clinical workflows, imaging, and revenue cycle management, the updated platform incorporates several AI-driven features. According to the company, this system is built on an "agentic platform architecture" that coordinates entire systems rather than focusing on individual tasks.
Among the highlights is the AI-powered Digital Forms tool, which captures insurance data from photos of patients’ driver’s licenses, insurance cards, and credit cards. Henry Schein One reported that 22 million forms were completed in 2025 using this feature, which is designed to enhance accuracy and efficiency in data entry. Another innovation, Eligibility Pro, retrieves real-time insurance benefits from multiple sources and automatically updates patient records, ensuring teams have accurate information before appointments.
The platform also includes Image Verify, an AI tool that evaluates clinical images at the moment of capture to prevent common claim denials and maintain clinical standards. Using a star-rating system, it provides immediate feedback on image quality. Additionally, the Voice Notes feature, developed in collaboration with AWS, uses generative AI to transcribe chairside conversations into structured clinical records. By summarizing information in real time, it seeks to reduce administrative burden and eliminate after-hours documentation for dental professionals.

The first tier, Ascend Essentials, is tailored for new or smaller practices. Ascend Pro is aimed at established practices looking for enhanced automation and multi-location management. This package also incorporates Eligibility Pro for real-time insurance checks.
