For med spa owners, aesthetic practices and providers. Updated October 2, 2026 · Prepared by Prospyr. Prospyr makes practice software, not awards, and none of the programs below is a Prospyr product. Each summary reflects what the program's organizer publishes on its own website, checked October 2026. Entry rules, fees and deadlines change every cycle, so confirm the current terms before you apply or pay.

Which awards programs are worth entering for a med spa or aesthetic practice?

The awards worth entering are the ones judged by peers or an editorial panel, with published criteria and no requirement to pay for a win. For aesthetic practices that means programs like AmSpa's Distinguished Women in Medical Aesthetics, The Aesthetic Awards from The Aesthetic Show, and the AMWC Aesthetic Medicine Awards. Surgeons can also earn peer-nominated lists such as Castle Connolly Top Doctors. Vote-driven and pay-to-be-listed awards build social proof, but patients and peers weigh them less.

How we chose this list

We included programs a practice manager can check before spending time or money:

  • Published criteria. The organizer explains who is eligible and how winners are chosen.
  • Relevant to aesthetics. The program names med spas, aesthetic providers or plastic surgeons, or it is a widely recognized business award a growing group would consider.
  • Clear about money. We note where entry, nomination or listing costs money, and where the organizer says payment does not affect results.
  • Current. The program ran a 2026 cycle or has published dates for its next one.

We list pay-to-enter and public-vote programs too, because practices are asked to join them, but we say plainly how they work. The order is our editorial view, not a ranking of prestige.

1. AmSpa Distinguished Women in Medical Aesthetics

The Distinguished Women in Medical Aesthetics program comes from the American Med Spa Association. Prospyr is an AmSpa Platinum partner. AmSpa states that nominees must be women working in medical aesthetics in any capacity in the United States, and that self-nominations are welcome. Judging looks at leadership, pioneering treatments or business models, contributions to industry growth, and mentoring other women.

What stands out:

  • Peer review. AmSpa's 2025 announcement says nominees were approved by a selection committee that included the 2023 honorees.
  • Owners and clinicians alike. The 2025 list of 25 honorees included nurse practitioners, RNs, PAs, physicians and a med spa director.
  • An event. Honorees were celebrated at a dinner during AmSpa's Women in Aesthetics Leadership Conference.

Right for: owners and providers with a track record of leadership or mentoring. Ask: when the next nomination window opens and whether attending the conference is expected of honorees.

2. The Aesthetic Awards

The Aesthetic Awards are run by The Aesthetic Show and featured in The Aesthetic Guide (both part of Informa). Categories include a Lifetime Achievement Award, a Medical Aesthetic Vanguard Award for physicians in practice less than 10 years, and a Best Aesthetic Practice Award for a team with strong systems, patient relationships, outcomes and revenue. Treatment awards cover nonsurgical and surgical facial rejuvenation and body shaping, therapeutic treatment, reconstruction and revision.

What stands out:

  • Case-based entries. Treatment entries need before-and-after photos plus a 100-word description of procedures and products, one entry per category.
  • Self-nomination allowed for the Lifetime Achievement Award, or a colleague can nominate you.
  • Editorial coverage. The organizer says winners receive recognition and coverage in The Aesthetic Guide.

Right for: practices with strong, well-documented results. Ask: the entry fee, the judging panel and the next deadline. Make sure every photo has written patient consent for publication.

3. AMWC Aesthetic Medicine Awards

The AMWC Aesthetic Medicine Awards, now in their 14th edition, are run alongside the AMWC conference (also an Informa event). Physicians submit clinical cases in categories such as non-surgical facial rejuvenation, energy-based treatment and hair restoration; companies apply in product and device categories. The page lists a late-January application deadline, jury evaluation and peer voting from February, and winners announced at an April ceremony. It also notes that incomplete applications are cancelled without a refund of the registration fee.

Right for: physicians who want international recognition among peers. Ask: the registration fee, and whether non-physician injectors can enter any category.

4. Newsweek America's Best Plastic Surgeons

America's Best Plastic Surgeons is an annual ranking from Newsweek and Statista. For 2026, Newsweek invited plastic surgeons to take a survey rating surgeons in six procedure areas: breast augmentation, facelift, liposuction, rhinoplasty, tummy tuck and eyelid surgery. Newsweek says its methodology combines peer feedback with quality-of-care measures. There is no application; listed surgeons can claim their profile.

Right for: plastic surgery practices. Ask: how to receive the next survey invitation, and what claiming or licensing the award logo costs.

5. Castle Connolly Top Doctors

Castle Connolly Top Doctors is a peer-nominated list. Castle Connolly states that its nominations platform is open to licensed MDs, DOs and DPMs, that each physician can make up to 15 nominations a year in their own specialty, and that you cannot nominate yourself. A physician-led research team then screens nominees, which takes up to 90 days.

Right for: plastic surgeons, dermatologists and other physicians whose colleagues know their work. Ask: what the selection screening checks, and what any profile or marketing package costs after selection.

6. RealSelf Top Doctor

RealSelf Top Doctor status goes to less than 10% of RealSelf's doctor community, according to RealSelf. It is earned through high patient satisfaction in RealSelf reviews, helpful expert answers, and minimum contribution standards: 75 answers overall, 10 answers every 90 days and at least 3 patient reviews. RealSelf states that advertising does not affect recognition, and Top Doctors are eligible for annual RealSelf Top Doctor awards.

Right for: physicians who already answer patient questions on RealSelf. Ask yourself: whether your team has time to keep up the answer quota every quarter. For other places patients find practices, see our list of directories where a med spa should be listed.

7. Top 100 Best Aesthetic Providers in America

The Top 100 Best Aesthetic Providers in America is an annual list published by Best Aesthetic Injectors, a national directory site. It states that honorees are chosen through peer nominations and patient votes, and its 2026 list includes RNs, NPs, PAs, physicians and a dentist from practices across the country. It is one of the few national lists that recognizes nurse injectors alongside physicians.

Right for: nurse injectors and PAs who want recognition that physician-only lists do not offer. Ask: who runs the site, how votes are weighted, and whether any fee is tied to nomination or listing. The site does not publish this.

8. Aesthetic Everything Awards

The Aesthetic Everything Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine Awards are decided by public voting. The organizer reports more than 50,000 votes for its 2026 awards. To be included in the 2027 voting, it says you must buy an Awards Nomination profile membership at $250 a year before December 22, 2026; 2027 voting is scheduled for January 13 to February 7, 2027.

Right for: practices that want social reach and are comfortable with a paid, vote-based format. Ask yourself: whether patients and peers in your market recognize the award. Be open about the format if you promote a win.

9. Inc. 5000

The Inc. 5000 is not an aesthetics award, but a private med spa group that meets its revenue rules can apply. For the 2026 list, Inc. required at least $100,000 in 2022 revenue and at least $2 million in 2025 revenue, a private, for-profit, independent US company, and revenue verification. The application fee is nonrefundable; for the 2026 cycle the regular rate was $695. Inc. also runs regional lists for companies with smaller revenue.

Right for: multi-location groups with verifiable growth. Ask: when 2027 applications open and how revenue under multiple entities is treated, since Inc. requires revenue under one LLC.

Questions to ask before you enter any awards program

  1. Who judges? Peer committee, editorial panel, public vote or algorithm. Get it in writing.
  2. What does it cost? Ask about entry fees, nomination memberships, and the cost to use the logo, plaque or press release after you win.
  3. Does payment affect results? A credible program says clearly that it does not.
  4. What do I have to submit? Case photos need written patient consent for publication, and claims must follow your state's advertising rules.
  5. How many winners are there? An award with hundreds of winners per category carries less weight than one with a single winner.
  6. Can I check past winners? Look at who won before and whether you would want to be listed with them.

Where Prospyr fits

An award is a trust signal; the reviews and results behind it come from day-to-day work. Frequently asked questions

Are med spa awards worth it?

They can be, if a credible panel judges them and you use the win honestly in your marketing. Peer-judged awards help with recruiting and partner credibility. Paid or vote-based awards mostly add social proof, so weigh the cost against what you would spend on other marketing.

How do I know if an award is pay-to-play?

Ask whether a fee is required to be considered or listed, and whether the organizer states that payment does not affect results. If the only path to winning is buying a profile or package, treat it as advertising. Aesthetic Everything, for example, publishes that inclusion in voting requires a $250 annual membership.

Can nurse injectors win aesthetics awards?

Yes. AmSpa's Distinguished Women program and the Top 100 Best Aesthetic Providers list both include RNs and NPs. Physician-only lists such as Castle Connolly and Newsweek's plastic surgeon ranking do not.

Can I use before-and-after photos in an award entry?

Only with the patient's written consent for that use, and with nothing that identifies them beyond what they agreed to. Check your consent forms, and follow your state's rules on advertising results.

How should I promote an award?

Name the program, the year and the category exactly, and link to the organizer's announcement. Do not imply a broader endorsement than the award gives. Share it with peers in provider communities and in your newsletter.
