For med spa owners and practice managers. Updated October 2, 2026 · Prepared by Prospyr. Prospyr makes practice software, not staffing services, and none of the companies below is a Prospyr product or partner. Each summary reflects what the company publishes on its own website, checked October 2026. Rates, markets and contract terms change, so confirm everything in writing before a temporary injector treats your first patient.

This is a buyer's guide rather than a ranked "top 10." We looked hard for staffing agencies that send licensed injectors to med spas for a day, a week or a leave of absence, and found very few that say so on their own websites. Most companies that rank for "med spa staffing" are permanent recruiters or job boards. We name the four options we could verify, explain why the list is short, and give you the questions that matter more than the logo.

What does a nurse injector staffing agency do?

A nurse injector staffing agency supplies a licensed RN, NP or PA to give neuromodulator and filler treatments at your med spa for a set period, such as a single day, a vacation week or a maternity leave, without you hiring that person permanently. The agency finds the provider, checks the license with the state board, and usually handles pay and the paperwork. Some also offer contract-to-hire. Your practice still owns the patient record, your medical director's protocols still apply, and your state's scope-of-practice rules decide who may inject.

The 4 injector staffing options at a glance

# Company Focus / who it serves Published pricing or terms Worth a call if you want …

How we chose this list

We started from searches for nurse injector, aesthetic nurse and med spa staffing, plus the staffing and recruiting category of med spa vendor directories, then loaded each company's own website. A company made the list only if it met at least two of these:

  1. It offers short-term coverage. Per diem, temporary, contract or leave coverage, not only permanent search.
  2. It names med spas or aesthetic roles. Injectors, aesthetic RNs, or medical spas appear on its own site.
  3. It explains how it checks providers. License checks with the state board, background checks, or proof of injectables experience.
  4. It says where it works. A named service area, so you know before you call whether it can reach you.

We left out permanent recruiters (see our separate list of aesthetic recruiting firms), job boards, and general per diem apps whose sites never mention aesthetic work. We also left out a UK aesthetic temp agency because it does not serve US practices. The order is our editorial view, not a measure of results.

Why so few? Injecting is a medical act tied to a supervising physician, a protocol, a product supply and a malpractice policy. That makes a true "Uber for injectors" hard to run across state lines, so most aesthetic staffing happens through recruiters, local networks and independent 1099 injectors. If you find an agency we missed, tell us at the address at the end of this page.

1. StaffHaven

StaffHaven is a healthcare staffing company that states it operates as a division of First Consultant Solutions and serves Dallas, Houston and El Paso. Its med spa page names injectors, estheticians, coordinators and medical directors, and lists treatments including Botox, dermal fillers, laser hair removal, chemical peels, microneedling, IV therapy and PRP.

What stands out:

  • Every staffing model. It lists per diem, contract, contract-to-hire and direct-hire arrangements, and says most partners mix them by season and role.
  • Speed. It states that most roles are filled within 24 hours and that same-day emergency coverage is available.
  • Credential checks. It describes checking licenses directly with state boards, running background checks, monitoring credential expiration dates and verifying malpractice coverage.
  • Practice coverage. Beyond med spas, it offers vacation and medical leave coverage for small practice owners, including front and back office work.

Right for: Texas med spas in its three metro areas that need a fill-in injector for a vacation, a leave or a busy season. Ask: whether its providers are W-2 employees or 1099 contractors, whose malpractice policy covers them while they treat your patients, and what the hourly or daily rate is.

2. The Natural Place Med Spa (staffing program)

The Natural Place Med Spa in Broomfield, Colorado runs a staffing program for med spas, clinics and wellness businesses that need temporary, contract or specialized help. It lists medical assistants, estheticians, nurses and clinical support professionals, describes candidates as pre-screened, and coordinates the assignment once a match is found. It states there is no commitment to hire after you submit a request.

Right for: practices in the Denver area that want a nurse or esthetician for a defined stretch and like working with someone who runs a med spa. Ask: which roles it can fill for injectables specifically, how it verifies licenses and injectables experience, and whether its program serves practices outside the Broomfield area.

3. Medely

Medely is a national per diem marketplace that connects healthcare facilities with nurses and allied professionals. It is not an aesthetics specialist, but its help center lists "Aesthetic RN" among supported positions. It reports a network of more than 300,000 professionals, says 85% of shifts are booked within 24 hours, supports both W-2 and 1099 arrangements, and states that facilities can sign up free and pay only when a shift is booked and completed.

Right for: a practice that needs RN coverage in a city with no aesthetic staffing agency, and has the in-house training and medical director oversight to onboard a nurse who may be new to your protocols. Ask: how many Aesthetic RNs are active near you, how it confirms injectables experience rather than only an RN license, and what the per-shift fee is for your market.

4. Enhance.work

Enhance.work is an aesthetics-only talent platform for South Florida, covering Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. It reports more than 2,500 aesthetic professionals and more than 1,200 practices registered, and states that practices pay for access to candidates. Its Florida staffing guide describes checking each provider's license and disciplinary record against Florida Department of Health records, confirming real injectables or device experience, and matching the provider to your services and county.

Right for: South Florida med spas that want a local, aesthetics-only pool. Ask: whether it places per diem or contract injectors or only permanent hires; its site does not say. Also ask what access costs and how long it lasts.

Before you call an agency: three other routes

Most med spas cover injector gaps without an agency. These routes are worth weighing against agency rates:

  • A part-time or PRN injector on your own payroll. Many experienced injectors want two or three days a week. Post the role as PRN and keep a bench of one or two people you have already trained on your protocols.
  • An independent injector. Some injectors run their own businesses and rent time at other practices. Get legal advice on worker classification first; misclassifying an injector as a 1099 contractor is a common and costly mistake.
  • A permanent hire. If the "temporary" gap has lasted three months, a recruiter may cost less. See our list of aesthetic recruiting firms.

Whichever route you take, a fill-in provider still needs a trained front desk behind them. If the gap is on the phones rather than the treatment room, see our lists of virtual assistants for medical practices and medical answering services.

Questions to ask any injector staffing agency

  1. Who is the employer of record? Find out whether the injector is the agency's W-2 employee, a 1099 contractor, or your employee. It decides who handles payroll taxes, workers' compensation and overtime.
  2. Whose malpractice policy covers the injector in your practice? Ask for the certificate of insurance and check that it covers injectables at your location. Then ask your own carrier whether a temporary provider is covered under your practice policy.
  3. How do you verify license and scope? A license check is the minimum. Ask how the agency confirms the provider may perform each treatment under your state's rules, and confirm it yourself with your state board. Our med spa licensing guide is a starting point.
  4. How do you confirm injectables experience? Ask for the provider's training certificates, years injecting, and the products they use. A strong RN with no filler experience is not a fill-in injector.
  5. Who supervises? Your medical director's protocols, standing orders and good faith exam process must cover the temporary provider. Confirm who signs off before the first patient.
  6. What are the rate, minimum shift and cancellation terms? Get the hourly or daily rate, any minimum hours, the cancellation window on both sides, and the conversion fee if you hire the person.
  7. Will you sign a BAA? The injector will see patient records. Ask whether the agency signs a business associate agreement and how it handles patient information.

Where Prospyr fits

A temporary injector works inside your practice systems: they need a provider login, a schedule your front desk can book into, and a chart for every patient they treat that stays with your practice when they leave. Before the first shift, set up their user account and treatment permissions, and remove access on their last day. Prospyr handles online scheduling and aesthetic EMR charting for med spas, or you can book a practice demo.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a per diem nurse injector cost?

None of the agencies we reviewed publish injector rates, so expect a quote by market and experience. Agency rates include the provider's pay plus the agency's margin, and sometimes a minimum shift length. Ask for the all-in hourly or daily rate and compare it with what you would pay a PRN injector directly.

Can a temporary injector work under my medical director?

Usually yes, but it depends on your state's rules and your medical director's agreement. The temporary provider must be covered by your protocols, standing orders and supervision arrangement before treating patients. Confirm the details with your medical director and your state board.

Are per diem injectors W-2 or 1099?

It depends on the agency. Some employ providers on W-2, some use 1099 contractors, and marketplaces like Medely state they support both. Worker classification has tax and liability consequences, so ask your accountant or attorney before you agree to a 1099 arrangement.

Who owns the patient records a temporary injector creates?

Your practice does. Chart every treatment in your own system, not on the provider's personal notes or an agency form, so the record stays with the patient's file after the assignment ends.

Want your company considered?

We review this list quarterly. Companies that supply injectors to med spas on a per diem, temporary or contract basis can send their website and what they offer practices to info@prospyrmed.com. Inclusion is editorial and not paid.
